Beach Retreat is a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home for up to 8 guests in Prominence, a community on Scenic Highway 30A between Watersound and Alys Beach. Deer Lake State Park's beach access is about half a mile away, and the community pools are a short walk from the door.
The open living and dining areas have 10-foot ceilings and plenty of windows. The kitchen has a gas cooktop, built-in oven, granite countertops and a full-size refrigerator with an ice maker. The dining table seats 6, with 4 more seats at the bar.
All three bedrooms are on the second floor and have ceiling fans. The primary bedroom has a king bed and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedroom 2 has a queen bed, and Bedroom 3 has a twin-over-full bunk bed and a twin bed. Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a full bathroom with a tub/shower combination, and there is also a half bath.
Community
Prominence has resort-style community pools, outdoor dining pavilions, community grills and fireplaces, and an outdoor amphitheater. Grills are not allowed at the home, so guests use the community grills at the pool area.
Beach Access
Deer Lake State Park is the closest beach access, about 0.5 miles away. It is a state park, so alcohol is not allowed and beach service is not available there. Walton County accesses at Gulf Lakes, Walton Dunes and Santa Clara are also nearby.

Coastal Dreamin' made our stay so great! We stayed at the “Beach Retreat” and we loved it! Beautiful, cozy home in a great location! All the staff at Coastal Dreamin' were very helpful and super nice! We had a small issue with the wifi when we checked in and they got it fixed less than 24 hours after we let them know of it! Highly recommend renting through them! Definitely booking our next vacation very soon!

This was our first trip to 30A/South Walton area and the first trip to the beach for our 6 and 4 year old little boys. The location was great, across the street from the HUB and within driving distance to everything you needed. We did not use the shuttle for the beach, but instead drove, which was good for our family. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The condo also came with several bikes, beach chairs, an umbrella and boogie boards, which was very nice. We were very pleased, had a great time and will definitely be back to stay again!
Great Last Minute Trip

The neighborhood of Prominence is very pretty. The town homes are all close to the pool and to The Hub across the street. Beach Retreat was, for us, just what its name implies. We needed a last minute getaway and found this cute home. The decor is lovely and has the Beachy, coastal feel that we love. The beds are all comfy and cute. The Master has a tremendous cathedral tray ceiling with enormous windows with plantation shutters but also transoms to let in a lot of beautiful, natural light. All the amenities we needed were at the house and we used the bikes included in our rental each and every day. I would not say that the beach is easy to get to though. There is a shuttle but it does not run routes until Memorial Day. There is a 1 mile bike ride to the East of Prominence where you can lock up your bike and take the boardwalk to the beautiful beach. The downside is that there are no bathrooms and no parking. The ride to/from has a few unexpectedly hard inclines both ways. Nothing too hard to manage but with each piece of gear you bring, the heavier your bike will be and the more difficult the trip. None of us really minded the ride, but we did have to make plans/decisions based on the time/distance both to and from this beach access. There are three other access. Two are 3+ miles and the other is a half mile or more. Just keep that in mind. A lot of folks had rented large golf carts to ride to the beach and to The Hub. Those looked like a good idea but are pretty expensive for a week. Overall, Beach Retreat itself was a wonderful slice of respite for us at a time when we really needed it. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a great home to rent!

The home was awesome. It was brand new and decorated very nicely, 2nd BR needs a Queen Bed in lieu of current Full size bed in our opinion. Located in a new quiet upper end community that provided free nightly entertainment with a live band and food court across the street at a venue call the HUB, which was really fun. It's really felt safe, but it was not gated. The kids rode their bikes to the pool every afternoon after we came back from the beach. Deer Park Beach has the best beach less than a mile down the road, it has a long boardwalk, but worth the walk, just beautiful. The only draw back is all your check in and communication is done by App and Email pretty much, but the emails were answered quickly. We locked ourselves out one day due to the crazy locking system they had, but once you understood it, it works OK, just concern about the security of the system. The entry door is a combination lock with a deadbolt that is lockable from the inside, so if you leave out of the interior Garage door which we did mostly and you forgot to unlock the Entry door deadbolt lock and you locked the interior garage door out of the house into the garage with the interior hand turn lock, you couldn't get back in. When we called for help on our first issue with being locked out, the first person was rude and we got disconnected and she never attempted to call me back. The second person was helpful, but didn't understand the issue so I had to take a picture and send it to her to help explain the issue. They did quickly send a very nice guy out that opened the door in the garage, which was scary, since he did it with a credit card. To enter the garage you had another combination lock, so if anyone had the key codes from the previous stays they could easily get in. Not sure how often they change them out. I didn't like it that we didn't have a security safe in the house, wish they could add that. They need to provide emergency keys somewhere on the property if you get locked out. They don't provide daily maid service either, so you have to wash your bath towels yourself and clean up daily, that is somewhat a problem. There is a washer and dryer in the Unit. A paid maid service option would be a nice feature. Overall I highly recommend it and would go back again. We loved the area because it was away from the Destin tourist trap, but if you wanted to go there you could, it's an hour a way. Fly into Panama City, not Ft. Walton is my suggestion it's much closer.

The location was very convenient to many local venues. This property is beautifully decorated with new furnishings. Beds were very comfortable and kids room has a bunkbed. The pool area is outstanding with outside grills and a big table for large families. Our kids enjoyed the HUB across the street and we all rode bikes everyday to nearby Seaside & Rosemary beach.
